26 for 26 is New York City FC’s FIFA World Cup 2026 legacy platform, architected, operated, and delivered by City in the Community, the Club’s registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit foundation. Representing an investment of more than $10 million through 2030, including $2.7 million in new community pitches and sustained investment in free programming, the platform will ensure these spaces create lasting impact, engage young people, and generate pathways to employment across New York City.

Infrastructure | Safe Spaces to Play
Builds on the New York City Soccer Initiative, launched in 2016, which delivered more than 50 mini-soccer pitches across the five boroughs. The next 26 pitches will expand this network through New York City public schools, giving New York City FC the largest community mini-pitch footprint of any MLS club.
Free Programming | Community Access
Ensures that, along with safe places to play, young people have access to City in the Community’s expanded core programs, including free in-school and after-school programming and the NYCSI Community Cup. This work is sustained in part by New York City’s Consulate Cup, a fundraising tournament that unites the city’s diplomatic community.
Youth Leadership | Workforce Pathways
Expands pathways into leadership and employment through the Young Leader Summit, paid training and job opportunities, and the SYEP Soccer Summer Innovation Challenge, made available to 10,000 young people enrolled in New York City’s Summer Youth Employment Program.
A Citywide, Collaborative Platform
26 for 26 is delivered with city agencies, community organizations, schools, and partners, benefitting soccer specific youth development organizations across New York City.

Our mission at City in the Community is to empower youth to lead healthier lives through soccer. Since 2010, we have served over 50K young people across 86% of New York City’s communities with free soccer programs promoting health, education and youth leadership while building 54 mini soccer pitches throughout the five boroughs.
We are committed to developing more safe spaces for youth to play soccer and to deliver free community-based programming with our partners to ensure every child in New York City has a safe place to play, learn, and lead. Together, we can create healthier, safer, and more connected communities.

CITC is the 501 (c)(3) charity foundation proudly supported by New York City FC. CITC builds on City Football Group’s long-standing tradition of community initiatives in NYC and across the globe. CITC NY has been selected four times as a finalist for ESPN’s Sports Humanitarian of the Year Award. In addition, NYCFC was named 2016 and 2019 MLS Community Relations Team of the Year, and Young Leaders Yasmine Sanchez (2019) and Chelsea Quito (2020) were awarded the ESPN Billie Jean King Award.
